Yarnshifter sample done

Last night I finished a piece I was my Yarnshifter pity I should have taken a photo of it before I took it off. I am not sure what sort of yarn it is it feels rather like hessian. I crocheted the edges which was quickly done and am happy with the overall result.



There is not much room to play with at the top of the stairs but room enough for a small rectangle extention. Goodness knows where I will go to weave with the full extention as it would be twice the length.


Once I had got the hang of the coils to wrap round instead of nails on my Triloom I was quickly woven. Only trouble of weaving standing up my arms tired quickly and my left hand kept going numb ( due to a stroke I suffered when I was in coranary care before I had a transplant) . Oh well small price to pay considering the alternative!!
Weaving a contiuous loop on a Yarnshifter or TriLoom produces symmetical paterns without having to think too much about the end design.




The crocheted edge give a good finish to the article.
I really am going to have fun with my Yarnshifter. Next job is to spin up more of the Shetland I have waiting to spin up in various types of yarn so far I am spinning it very softly and not worrying about it being a regular thickness (slubby) and making it 2ply. Then I will do some in an even yarn probably end up as a 3 ply.
